Most clients enjoy smoothness for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycle and individual factors. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and result in finer hair. Touch-ups are scheduled as needed based on your comfort and desired maintenance.
Waxing sensation varies by person; many describe a quick stinging followed by relief. We use small strips, warm wax, and calming techniques to reduce discomfort. Topical numbing can be discussed beforehand if appropriate; communicate during the treatment so we can adjust.
Avoid heavy sun exposure, tanning, and exfoliating within 24-48 hours of your appointment. Ensure hair is about a quarter-inch long, and come with clean, product-free skin. If taking retinoids or on blood-thinning medication, inform your therapist beforehand.
Aftercare includes avoiding hot baths, saunas, and heavy exercise for 24 hours. Keep the area clean, apply a soothing, fragrance-free lotion or aloe, and gently exfoliate after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs and encourage smooth regrowth.
Shaving between waxing appointments isn't recommended because it cuts hair at the surface, which can alter regrowth and reduce waxing effectiveness. If needed, trim very short with scissors. For best results, let hair regrow to about a quarter-inch before your next wax.
Contraindications include sunburn, open wounds, active rashes, recent chemical peels, or certain skin treatments. If you are on blood thinners, pregnant, or have skin conditions, tell us so we can advise or reschedule. We may require a patch test in some cases.
