Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Microdermabrasion facial.

Most clients experience mild, tolerable sensations like light abrasion or warmth. There’s minimal to no downtime; skin may be slightly pink for a few hours. You can resume most activities immediately, though sun protection and gentle skincare are recommended for 24–48 hours.

Typically a series of 4–6 sessions spaced two to four weeks apart yields noticeable improvement in texture, tone and clarity. Maintenance treatments every few months help preserve results, while exact frequency depends on skin concerns and your esthetician’s recommendation.

Microdermabrasion is effective for mild scarring, surface pigmentation and uneven texture by promoting cell turnover. Deeper scars or severe discoloration may require combined therapies (chemical peels, microneedling, or laser). Our consultants will assess and recommend the best plan for your skin.

Sensitive or rosacea-prone skin may react to abrasion; we perform a skin assessment and may recommend gentler settings, alternative treatments, or a patch test. Your esthetician will customize the approach to minimize irritation and protect skin health.

Your esthetician will cleanse the skin, perform the microdermabrasion pass(es), and apply soothing serums and SPF. The full appointment usually lasts 45–60 minutes. You’ll receive aftercare instructions to protect and hydrate skin for optimal healing and results.

Avoid retinoids, aggressive exfoliation, and strong chemical peels for at least 5–7 days before treatment. Afterward, use gentle cleansers, hydrating serums, and broad-spectrum SPF daily. Avoid heavy makeup, tanning, and prolonged sun exposure for 48 hours to reduce irritation and protect results.
